Alison Hitchcock, co-founder of From Me To You, a charity that distributes letters to cancer patients, tells us how she needed to face her own fears and how helping others has led her all the way to a busking spot on Carnaby Street... 

Alison Hitchcock is co-founder of From Me to You  a national campaign encouraging us to write letters to friends and strangers suffering from cancer. She has a Master’s in Creative Writing from Birkbeck University, having left a City career in 2010 to pursue a love of writing She was runner-up in the inaugural SASH Writing Competition and is published in their anthology, Homeless. Her work has also appeared in Mechanics’ Institute Review 12The Interpreter’s House and Every Day Fiction. She is currently writing a book of the letters she sent to her From Me to You co-founder Brian Greenley when he had cancer.
